- 2.50 mm crochet hook
- 100 % cotton yarn for a 2.50 mm hook
- A pair of 8 mm safety eyes
- Tapestry needle and pins
- Polyfiber fill
Abbreviations (US Terms)
st = stitch
ch = chain
slst = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
You will need:
Brown, light brown, pale pink for her dress, yellow for the scarf and emerald green for the backpack.
Oh! And a bit of black to embroider the snout.
I used 100% cotton yarn (8/8 – DK Worsted).
Finished size:
From head to toe, your finished doll measures 15 cm approximately.
Of course, should you choose a different hook and yarn, final measures will vary…

Head
Using brown…
1. Chain 9 ch stitches. Crochet 1 sc in the second ch from hook and then 1 sc in the next 6 ch stitches. Crochet 3 sc in the last ch, which will allow you to work on the other side of the chain. Crochet 1 sc in each of the following 6 sts and finally crochet 2 sc (increase) in the last st (18). Crochet 1 slst in the first st of the round. This last st does not count in the final count of the round.
2. Crochet 6 sc, 2 sc in the next 3 sts, 6 sc, 2 sc in the next 3 sts (24)
3. Crochet 6 sc, *1 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * 3 times, 6 sc, *1 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * 3 times (30)
4. Change to light brown and crochet 6 sc, *2 sc in the next st, 2 sc*, repeat * 3 times, 6 sc, *2 sc in the next st, 2 sc*, repeat * 3 times (36 sts)
5. and 6. Crochet 1 sc in each st (36)
7. Crochet *5 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * 6 times (42)

Place the safety eyes between rounds 10 and 11, embroider the cheeks with a bit of pink yarn and the muzzle with black yarn.

Skirt
Place the body neck down. Join the pale pink yarn in the first remaining front loops of round 15 of the body, to crochet the skirt…
1. Crochet 1 sc in each remaining front loop of round 15 (48)
2. Crochet *11 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * 4 times (52)
3. Crochet 1 sc in each st (52)
4. Crochet *1 slst, 1 sc, 1 hdc + 1 dc + 1 hdc in the same st, 1 sc*, repeat * all along the round.
Crochet 1 last slst in the first st of the round. Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.
Ears
Make two, using brown…
1. Magic ring of 6 sc
2. Crochet *2 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * twices (8)
3. Crochet 1 sc in each st (8)
Fasten off yarn, leaving a long tail to sew the ears to the head.
Arms
Make two, starting with dark brown…
1. Magic ring of 5 sc
2. Crochet 2 sc in each st (10)
3. Crochet 1 sc in each st (10)
4. Change to brown and crochet 1 sc in each st (10)
No need to stuff the arm…
5. to 11. Crochet 1 sc in each st (10)
12. Press the opening with your fingers and crochet together, with sc, both opposing sides to close the opening of the arm (5).
Fasten off yarn, leaving a long tail to sew the arms to the body.
Legs
Make two, starting with dark brown…
1. Magic ring of 6 sc
2. Crochet 2 sc in each st (12)
3. Crochet *3 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * 3 times (15)
4. Crochet 1 sc in each st (15)
5. Change to brown and crochet 1 sc in each st (15)
6. to 8. Crochet 1 sc in each st (15)
Stuff firmly…
9. Crochet *1 sc, one decrease*, repeat * 3 times (12)
10. and 11. Crochet 1 sc in each st (12)
12. Press the opening with your fingers and crochet together, with sc, both opposing sides to close the opening of the leg (6).
Fasten off yarn, leaving a long tail to sew the legs to the body.
Backpack
Using emerald green…
1. Chain 9 ch stitches. Crochet 1 sc in the second ch from hook and then 1 sc in each of the following 6 ch stitches. Crochet 3 sc in the last ch, which will allow you to turn and crochet on the other side of the chain. Crochet 1 sc in each of the next 6 sts and, finally, 2 sc (increase) in the last ch (18),
2. to 8. Crochet 1 sc in each st (10)
Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.
Leaving a long initial yarn tail, crochet 2 chains of 20 ch stitches. Fasten off yarn, leaving a long tail. Now sew both straps to the sides of the backpack.
Bow
Using pale pink… The bow is crocheted in rows, not spirals…
1. Chain 9 ch stitches. From the second chain from hook, crochet 1 sc in each chain (8 sc).
2. to 4. Chain 1 and and turn. Crochet 8 sc.
DON’T BREAK THE YARN… Chain 1 to turn the piece 90 degrees clockwise and crochet 4 sc along the side of the bow, working in the spaces between rows. When you reach the top edge, crochet 8 sc in the remaining loops of the foundation chain. Then chain 1 to turn the piece 90 degrees clockwise again and crochet 4 sc along the other side of the piece, once again working in the spaces between rows.
Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.
Cut a bit of pale pink yarn and use it to tie several rounds of yarn in the middle to create the bow. Finish with a knot, leaving a long tail to sew to the head.
Scarf
Using yellow… The scarf is also worked in rows…
1. Crochet 61 ch stitches. Starting in the second ch from hook, crochet 1 sc in each ch stitch (60). Chain 1 and turn.
2. and 3. Only through back loops, crochet 1 sc in each st.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Assembly
- Sew the ears to the head now, between rounds 18 and 20 of the head.
- Attach the head to the body using pins. Check the positioning. Once you are satisfied, sew the body to the head your tapestry needle with the remaining yarn tail.
- Sew the arms to the sides of the body.
- Pin the legs to the sides of the body to be sure the doll can sit. Then sew them in place using the remaining yarn tail.
- Sew the bow the sides of the head.
-Tie the scarf around the neck of your doll.
