Unicorn mane

Using pink

First of all, sew the body to Gigi’s head, between rounds 27 and 28 of the head. Before starting the mane, you must first prepare the head with a row of superficial sc, which you will then use to crochet the mane. Using some pins, trace a line from the neck to Gigi’s forehead (approximately on round 31 of the head, counting from the initial magic ring).

Starting from the forehead, using pink, insert your hook between two rounds, yarn over and crochet 1 sc. Go on crocheting superficial sc till you reach the last pin. Don’t worry if it’s not super super straight. All in all you should end up with 18 superficial sc. Could be more. Could be less. No worries!

Close, break the yarn and weave in ends.

Now we are ready to start the mane… Insert your hook with the pink yarn in the front loop of the first superficial sc in the forehead. Crochet 1 sc in that front loop and then chain 13 ch stitches.

Insert the hook in the second ch from hook and crochet 1 sc. Then crochet 1 sc in each stitch along the chain till you reach the next front loop (12 sc).

Then *crochet 1 sc in the next fron loop and chain 13 ch stitches. Insert hook in the second ch from hook and crochet 1 sc. Then crochet 1 sc in each stitch along the chain till you reach the next front loop*. Repeat *till you complete 18 short hair locks at the end of the row of the superficial sc.

Now you should turn and repeat the same as before, but on the remaining back loops of the row of superficial sc. This means that you must crochet 18 more hair locks. Thus the mane will be thicker!

When you reach the first sc in which you've started, close, break the yarn and weave in ends.
