{ Pemberley, the Halloween bear... }



Materials
- 2.50 mm crochet hook
- 100 % cotton yarn for a 2.50 mm hook (8/4)
- A pair of 6 mm safety eyes
- Tapestry needle and pins
- Polyfiber fill  
 
Abbreviations (US Terms)
st = stitch
ch = chain
slst = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
 
You will need:
Brown, black and white and a little bit of pink to embroider the cheeks.
I use 100% cotton yarn (8/4 – Fingering).
 
Finished size: 
From head to toe, your finished bear measures 15 cm approximately.
Of course, should you choose a different hook and yarn, final measures will vary.

Muzzle
Using brown...
1. Magic ring of 6 sc
2. Crochet 2 sc in each st (12)
3. Crochet *1 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * 6 times (18)
4. and 5. Crochet 18 sc
Fasten off yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. 
 
Thread a bit of black yarn into your tapestry needle and embroider a few straight stitches to create the nose in the muzzle. Set aside for a while.
 
 
Leg 1 
Using black...
1. Magic ring of 6 sc
2. Crochet 2 sc in each st (12)
3. Crochet *1 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * 6 times (18)
4. Only through back loops, crochet 18 sc
5. to 10. Crochet 18 sc
Fasten off yarn and weave in ends. Set aside.
 
Leg 2 + Body
Using black...
1. Magic ring of 6 sc
2. Crochet 2 sc in each st (12)
3. Crochet *1 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * 6 times (18)
4. Only through back loops, crochet 18 sc
5. to 10. Crochet 18 sc
11. With leg 2 still on your hook, chain 3 and join leg 1 with 1 sc (place a stitch marker here because this will be the beginning of the following rounds). Crochet further 17 sc along leg 1 and then crochet 3 sc on one of the sides of the 3-ch-chain. Now crochet 18 sc along leg 2, and finally 3 sc on the other side of the 3-ch-chain. Total stitches: 42
12. to 20. Crochet 42 sc
Stuff the legs firmly…

7. Press the opening with your fingers, aligning 12 stitches side by side and sc together the corresponding stitches, 1 sc into each pair of stitches. (12)

Tail
Using black…

2. Crochet 2 sc in each st (12)

5. Crochet *1 sc, one decrease*, repeat * 4 times (8)
Fasten off yarn, leaving a long tail to sew to the back of your bear.
 
Assembly
- Stuff the muzzle lightly and sew it between the eyes.
- Curve the ears and sew them to both sides of the head.
- Sew the arms to the sides of the body.
- Stuff the tail lightly and sew it to the back of your bear.
- Now, using a bit of white yarn, embroider the skeleton to the black suit of your bear, using the photo below as model..
- Weave in all ends inside the doll.
