Purse
Start with light blue…
1. Chain 21 ch stitches. Crochet 2 sc (increase) in the second ch from hook and then 1 sc in each of the following 18 ch stitches. Crochet 4 sc (2 increases) in the last ch stitch, which will allow you to turn and work on the other side of the foundation chain. Crochet 1 sc in each of the following 18 ch stitches and, finally, 2 sc (increase) in the last ch stitch (44)
2. Crochet 1 sc, 1 increase, 18 sc, 1 increase, 2 sc, 1 increase, 18 sc, 1 increase and, finally, 1 sc (48)
3. to 14. Crochet 1 sc in each stitch (48)
15. Crochet 1 sc. Change to white and, only through back loops, crochet 1 sc. Mark this stitch since it Will be the beginning ok the following rounds. Only through back loops, crochet 1 sc in each remaining stitch (48)
16. to 28. Crochet 1 sc in each stitch (48)
29. Crochet 2 sc. Change to light blue and, only through back loops, crochet 1 sc. Mark this stitch since it Will be the beginning ok the following rounds. Only through back loops, crochet 1 sc in each remaining stitch (48)
30. to 40. Crochet 1 sc in each stitch (48)
41. Crochet 2 sc (or the necessary ones to reach the end/corner of the purse). Now we are going to begin the strap. Crochet 260 chain stitches (if you want it loner or shorter, you’ll have to crochet more or les chain stitches). Starting from the EIGHTH chain from hook (this is to create the buttonhole), crochet 1 sc in each chain stitch till you reach the edge of the purse (252 sc). Once you’ve reached the edge, crochet 1 sc in each stitch of the edge of the purse (48)
42. Crochet 1 sc in each remaining chain stitch on the other side of the strap and the buttonhole and then crochet 1 sc in each stitch of the other side of the strap, till you reach once again the edge of the purse. Once there, crochet 1 sc in each stitch along the edge of the purse (48).
After finishing round 42 along the edge of the purse, you’ll end up where the strap begins. Perfect then!
Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.
Sun
Using yellow…
1. Magic ring of 6 sc
2. Crochet 2 sc in each st (12)
3. Crochet 2 sc in each st (24)
4. Crochet *3 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * (30)
Crochet 1 slst to finish and fasten off yarn, leaving a long tail to sew the sun to the purse.
Assembly
- Sew the button to the other end of the purse, opposite to where the strap is, two or three rounds below the edge of the purse.
- Sew the sun to the white strap
- Weave in all ends.
