{ Leopold, the Polar Bear... }

Note: Leopold measures 15 cm approximately. Of course should you choose a different hook or yarn calling, measures will vary.

Materials:
3.00 mm crochet hook
- 100 % cotton yarn for a 3.00 mm hook
- 4.5 mm crochet hook
- 100% cotton yarn for a 4.5 mm hook (this is for the scarf!)
- A pair of safety eyes
- Polyfiber fill for stuffing
- Tapestry needle

Colors:
- White, if you'll be crocheting a polar bear.
- A bit of brown, to embroider the snout.
- The color of your choice for the scarf. IMPORTANT! This color should be thicker, for a 4.50 cm crochet hook!

Abbreviations (US Terms)
st = stitch
slst = slip stitch
sc = single crochet

It's best to start crocheting the snout...

Snout
{Using the color of the body...}

2. Crochet 2 sc in each stitch (10)
3. Crochet *1 sc, 2 sc in the next stich (increase)*, repeat * (15)
4. Crochet 15 sc
Close and break the yarn, leaving a long tail to sew to body. With a bit of brown yarn embroider the snout…

DON'T BREAK THE YARN! We will now go on with the body...

11. Crochet 48 sc
12. Crochet *7 sc, 2 sc in the next stich (increase)*, repeat * (54)
13. to 22. Crochet 54 sc
23. Crochet *7 sc, one decrease*, repeat * (48)
